I am somewhat less broadly known as

a director, dramaturg and teacher who specializes in naturalism, as well as expressionistic physical theatre, and puppetry.

I have an undergraduate honours degree in Humanities and Theatre from York University, and attended the MA graduate program in Theatre and Performance Studies there as well.

I am currently on faculty (part-time) at the Randolph College for the Performing Arts, teaching scene study, and occasionally directing shows.

I have five Dora Mavor Moore award nominations: four as director, one as designer. I was Artistic Director at Solar Stage Theatre from 2014-2019 where I dramaturged and directed: Krampus, The Princess Knight (twice), Alex in Wonderland (thrice) & Jillian Jiggs (twice). During my tenure the company collected over 20 Dora nominations. Just before that, I dramaturged and directed a sold-out run of Erin Thompson’s show ‘Slut’ in the Toronto Fringe, which also won Best of Venue and the Mirvish Award for Entrepreneurship.

My background in puppetry ranges from designing and building to directing, choreographing and consulting, with a focus on authentic gesture and breath-motivated movement. My styles range from imagistic object theatre to multi-operator puppets. I have studied with Old Trout Puppet Workshop, Sandglass Theater (USA), Mirek Trejtnar (Czech Republic).

Recent directorial works include Fireside Munsch (touring); Good Mother (RCPA); Matilda: the Musical (North Stage); Peter and the Starcatcher (RCPA), How to Code a Sandcastle (Thousand Islands Playhouse), A Number (Lunar Stage).
